A 'Functional Medicine' approach combining Nutritional Therapy, Herbal Medicine, & Kinesiology

My Aproach

I develop holistic programs tailored to meet individual needs, which means recommendations can differ significantly based on what each person requires. These may include suggestions for specific foods, restoring nutrient levels, detoxification, herbal blends, supporting various body organs and systems, lifestyle changes, and stress management techniques.

What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine uses the patient’s story as a key tool for integrating diagnosis, signs and symptoms, and evidence of clinical imbalances into a comprehensive approach to improve both the patient’s environmental inputs and his or her physiological function.

I have always worked in a holistic and integrated way (working with consideration of other modalities/therapies when appropriate), and the IFM has systemised this approach.

New enquiries

Please note that I am not currently taking on new patients but may open my practice again in a few months time.

If you would like to check in with me to see if we might work together later on this year then please send a short email summary about what you would like help with, along with any significant medical history or diagnosis you have had, and include names of any medications you take. I can then either put you on a waiting list or refer you to someone else.

Booking I will ask you to sign two forms once you have booked a consultation.

What to expect

During the first consultation which is usually one and a half to two hours we will consider what you want help with, medical history and influences on your symptoms and wellbeing. This will include using a Functional Medicine approach*, and I will also use Kinesiology to help assess what is indicated for you (this may include physical, structural, subtle energetic, and emotional indications).

I will also include consideration of any medical test results if you have them, and I might also suggest you have some tests done. Sometimes these may be private lab tests that the NHS does not routinely use.

I will give you advice (a holistic prescription) after the first consultation, some may be straight away, and quite often I will email a follow up report within a few days with more comprehensive recommendations and supportive info.

Follow up consultations: in the early stages you may benefit from consultations about once a month, and after a few months it is more likely you could benefit from consultations every three months or during each season of the year.

Lab testing available:

There are a wide range of lab tests available to help assess a range of nutritional and functional markers (including digestive and bowel, food sensitivity, hormones, nutritional, body organs, systems and glandular function). Many involve test kits you can use yourself, such as finger prick, urine, saliva and stool sample tests. Test kits are sent to from the lab which allows you to collect samples yourself at home and returned to the labs by post. They then email results to you or myself.

Fees: £70 per hour. First session is usually one and a half to 2 hours, Subsequent sessions vary in length according to need
